TVB A Pillow Case Of Mystery II Episode 08
I was watching Fire of Conscience yesterday since I have nothing else to watch. Fire of Conscience 火龙, literally translated as “Fire Dragon” is an 2010 Hong Kong action/thriller film directed by Dante Lam and starring Leon Lai and Richie Ren. The synopsis is some what like this as “The investigation of a prostitute’s homicide brings headstrong Detective Manfred in an unlikely collaboration with sly Inspector Kee from the Narcotics Bureau. When the DNA samples of one of Manfred’s fellow officers are found at the crime scene, implicating him as the prime suspect. In the line of fire between high levels of corruption, Manfred must solve all the twists of the mystery.”
This movie has a lot of bad cop/worse cop stuff and shoot outs. The plot surrounds a down and out cop who lives in his car after losing his wife. His pitiful behavior bring the attention of his superior. He tries to get back on his feet time after time but a case assigned to him leaves him with little choice. Fire of Conscience is a pure adrenaline rush, make no mistake about it. It is a film made with real verve and skill. The action scenes are wonderfully staged, while Leon Lai and Richie Jen make for a fascinating pair of complex cops.
